About Joel Rivera

I grew up watching what happens when people are given just a little support, how a safe home, a strong community, or one person who believes in you can change everything. That belief stayed with me and became the foundation of my work. Over the past decade, I’ve worked in the heart of the nonprofit world, across workforce development, early learning, education, housing, and entrepreneurial support. These weren’t just jobs; they were front-row seats to resilience, innovation, and the kind of leadership that starts from the ground up. I earned my MBA in Nonprofit Management from Johnson & Wales University to strengthen the strategy behind the mission. Today, I’m pursuing my Doctor of Education (EdD.) in Leadership, specializing in Instructional Leadership, to explore how adult learning, storytelling, and systems thinking can shape stronger, more sustainable communities. One thread has tied all of my work together: impact marketing. Whether I’m supporting nonprofits or mission-driven businesses, I help organizations uncover the “why” behind their brand, and build campaigns that amplify it. I believe marketing should do more than sell; it should inspire, mobilize, and make people feel something real. This work is personal. It’s rooted in lived experience, driven by a belief in people, and powered by the question I carry into every room: What if we designed everything with impact in mind?
