About Joel Vautour

With over 30 years in the IT industry, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to the growth, transformation, and acquisition of multiple organizations, from early-stage startups to global enterprises. My early career began in government, before I took a leap into a startup that was successfully acquired within two years. From that point on, the startup ecosystem was in my blood. I fell in love with the process of building products and companies. Since then, I’ve helped scale organizations through leadership roles spanning general management, software development, IT, operations, and security. I've been part of three startups, two of which had successful exits, and I also contributed to the growth of two established companies that were later acquired. At every stage, I’ve embraced the opportunity to learn, adapt, and help build something meaningful. Today, I serve as Head of Corporate Services at PLATO, a national leader in software testing committed to creating inclusive career pathways for Indigenous people and underrepresented groups in tech. I lead a broad portfolio including HR, IT, Security, Facilities, and Talent Acquisition. My focus is on fostering a secure, efficient, and people-first environment that aligns with PLATO’s mission and values. My strengths lie in navigating complexity, scaling operations, mentoring cross-functional teams, and aligning technology with business outcomes. I bring an entrepreneurial mindset to every role, whether inside a large enterprise or startup environment, and continue to be energized by opportunities that combine innovation, leadership, and impact. Outside of my current role, I remain curious and quietly active in building new ideas.
