About Joel Velez
I grew up in El Segundo, but currently live in Long Beach. After graduating from El Segundo High School, I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with my life, so I was introduced to the military by a close friend. Shortly after, I enlisted in the Marine Corps. My MOS (military occupational specialty) is a 2821 - Technical Controller; our duties are a sort of "Jack of All Trades". We're trained to be able to work on, troubleshoot (hardware and software) all communication equipment within a single communication outpost, while simultaneously driving the facility towards it's goal. Soon after my training was complete, I found a job working at Square Enix as a customer support agent. My training experience has carried over very effectively, and have found that working technical/customer support is somewhat similar to what I was trained to do. I see myself as a very mission oriented person. Both personally, and because I've been trained to do so.After 2 years of not being in school, I decided to return due to my want to learn more and create a career for myself in Marketing.
