About Joey Ponce
Since moving to Indianapolis in the summer of 2011, I have been focusing my energy in building up the vibrant and energetic culture of my community. As a designer, my passions lie in community-building and cause-focused design. Originally from El Paso, Texas, I moved to Indianapolis for a spur-of-the-moment job offer and quickly found my niche in a community of designers and young professionals from all over the country who also have a passion for this city.While my cause-focused designs speak with a direct and mission-focused tone, my personal illustrations and hand-drawn typography display my more whimsical and young-at-heart aesthetic. My personal artwork draws from everyday influences of music, overheard conversations, or meaningful life events, creating a playful visual diary of sorts. My passion for hand-made art ranges from quick sketches and screen-printed posters, to chalkboard art and large scale murals. Any surface inviting a mark or any object accepting manipulation and transformation, I eagerly approach with a curious mind.
