About Joey Silva

I am a registered Physiotherapist at ORKA Performance in Sherwood Park, and an MScPT graduate from the University of Alberta. I have a special interest in working with athletes to rehab and prevent injury and improve performance, as well as in areas such as ACL-R and lower extremity post-op rehabilitation, and activity-related shoulder pain. I encourage my clients to take an active role in their recovery, aiming to teach lifelong skills in self management to give people control over their bodies and injuries. Prior to physiotherapy, I worked in the field of disability services where I was able to develop skills such as communication, empathy, and the ability to build personal connections with clients. These skills have helped in my clinical practice to build trust and rapport with my patients. My practice revolves around working with my clients collaboratively using exercise, manual therapy, and education to help them achieve their goals and get back to the things they want to do!
