About Johan Andersson
I am an award-winning artist with over a decade of experience exhibiting and selling in the international art market, including The Scope Art fair in Basel and Cutlog in Paris. I've shown at 20+ exhibitions worldwide, including the Strarta Art Fair at the Saatchi Gallery and the BP Portrait Award Tour at the Dean Gallery in Edinburgh, but have kept my art grassroots through displays in major London Underground stations including Bond Street, Green Park, Baker street and South Kensington. I've had the pleasure of showing alongside artists Anish Kapoor, Sarah Lucas, Gavin Turk and Howard Hodgkin. In 2008, I became the youngest ever artist to be shortlisted for the BP Portrait Award; I was later listed as one of The Independent's Top 20 Artists. My selected work has been displayed at the National Portrait Gallery and that same year was also selected for the Jerwood Contemporary Painters prize. I am currently living and working in Los Angeles, CA in an exciting new role as Co-Founder of Art Unified, an arts startup that is bridges the gap between artists and art lovers.
