About Johan de Feijter

Analytic builder’ with a weak spot for the agile way of working and financial crime, who became “crime Feijter”. For over ten years ago, I got acquainted with supervision on financial crime (does Putin’s visit to Crimea in 2014 still ring a bell?) and made the decision to keep on making a real difference. After Welten introduced me to the Rabobank Group, I finished the Financieel Forensisch Deskundige (FFD) programme at Erasmus University. As a senior at Rabobank, I improved it’s Transaction Monitoring and participated in the migration to the new TM-environment Themis. After the documentation of the TM-model and the build of new detection rules complementing the needed coverage according to the SIRA, I also participated in the periodical TM Coverage Assessment targetting the non-TM controls complementary to the improved ruleset. This seasoned TM knowledge I brought to de Volksbank’s Anti Financial Crime-hub where I first rationalised and then aligned the ruleset with the new SIRA. Along with this ‘repair’, I (re)designed the bank’s backtesting to ensure that my client stays fully compliant with the Wwft and DNB’s supervisory. I'm a self starter, analyst/doer and yes it goes without saying: I too sometimes reach my boundaries. Nonetheless, I get up, learn and go on smarter. Love the bigger picture without losing the details out of sight. Hence, I apply my unique hands-on TM and AML/CTF knowledge for better coverage: ensuring better protection for customers, society and my clients.
