The Photoreceptor Physiology Group is interested in elucidating how rod photoresponses are processed and parsed into the retinal circuitry by integrating physiology with genetics. The research is focused on how alterations in the rod photoresponse are propagated through the Rod Bipolar Pathway, and thus how optimization of the response transmission is achieved.
