About Johan Palm

I currently work as Manager for the Design Engineering team at Alfdex in Stockholm, a joint venture between Alfa Laval and Concentric. My team is responsible for developing customer specific separators for gas/liquid separation, mainly used in heavy vehicles. I’m creative, yet well-structured in my work. Furthermore, I’m analytical and good at working with abstract concepts. Also, I’m a skilled communicator, able to explain complex matters in simple ways. I have a special passion for innovation and, apart from making up ideas and concepts myself, I also like to help my co-workers utilize their creativity to boost the total innovation capabilities of the organization using various methods and tools. In my previous role as Senior Development Engineer at Alfa Laval I worked with developing a single-use separator for pharmaceutical bioprocessing and before that, as a Product Architect, I was defining strategies for optimising modularisation and configuration of the complete high speed separator product. My background as a consultant, working as a mechanical designer, PLM system advisor and project manager for various clients, has provided me with a profound experience of working in product development projects with many different product types in many different organisations, ranging from small start-up companies to global enterprises. Out of these years, 4,5 years were assignments in the medical technology (med tech) sector.
