About Johan Venemalm

Experienced software developer with a decade of hands-on involvement in various segments of the financial industry, focusing mostly on buy-side trading technology. Over the course of my career, I have worked in both development and client-facing roles, ranging from traditional software development to dozens of previous customer facing engagements. My educational background is primarily rooted in computer science, applied mathematics and computational science, but am nowadays drawn to back-end software engineering, with a specific emphasis on the Python ecosystem. Relevant software development experience encompasses engineering of back-end programs such as workflow, web service, pub/sub, and integration development, as well as programming of microservices and APIs. Proficient in modern cloud infrastructure including AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform for providing and deploying application infrastructure on the cloud. Coupled with a strong focus on efficient and maintainable code, I also possess softer skills such as agile methods, requirements analysis, cross-functional documentation, project delivery, and excellent communication skills.
