About Johanlene Venter

I am a motivated and ambitious claims consultant and construction lawyer. I have an extensive education including a LLB and LLM (International Commercial Law) and I am currently busy with a BSC Quantity Surveying degree through the University College of Estate Management in the United Kingdom. I am also an associate member of the Association of Arbitrators South Africa. I am very passionate about construction projects especially the strategic and innovative pursuit and resolution of construction claims and disputes. Having held numerous positions within the industry including an in-house legal position for a network engineering company, a consulting role for a bespoke dispute resolution firm, on site consulting assistance for both contractors and employers on the Medupi Power Station as well as Kusile Power Station, I believe that I can provide a holistic approach to the pursuit and resolution of any construction claim and/or dispute. My current role as a Claims Consultant for HKA includes advising clients throughout the construction industry on all matters pertaining to the formulation, pursuit, and resolution of construction claims and disputes. My future ambitions are focussed on gaining further experience in delay - and quantum analysis on the front of international construction and engineering projects.
