The Abbott family started in the fire service industry In 1959 with John, Sr. getting a job with a local service company after being discharged from the U.S. Navy. John, Sr. stayed in the industry until starting Fire & Safety of Denver, Inc. in February of 1974 and has continued since. John, Jr. took over the company in the 1990’s and not only has it grown, he and his wife Sondi both keep the family racing tradition going in a positive direction. The professional segment of our racing family started in 1960 with the construction of the family’s first dragster built to assault the quarter mile. Through the years as the sport progressed, the need of marketing and financial help became more apparent. In the early years teams would look to local companies for sponsorship help in return of signage on the car. Those funds were limited however every dollar helped keeping teams and racing venues alive. Today the John Abbott Racing family is a professional drag racing entertainment organization. We are in the 3rd generation of NHRA racing. Our organization is a Colorado brand, enjoying years of Colorado & national racing involvement. The NHRA is the world’s largest sanctioning body with membership approaching Well structured strategic partnerships in the NHRA will develop into solid programs with a high ROI for the brand. Fire & Safety of Denver has been on our race cars since the late 1970’s and has been successfully used in cross promotions and entertainment for our customers locally and in some cases on a national level. Investing in a racing property is quiet rewarding, not only for visuals, but for customer entertainment and TV nationwide.
