About John Aguon

Producer/Director/Editor Born on Guam, raised in Hawaii and planted my feet in Los Angeles with a BA in Film from the University of Hawaii. I pride myself on being a Swiss Army knife working across every creative medium. Captivated by the human experience, my work often deals with what intricacies of humanity, telling authentic stories and capturing the present moment. I’m proud to have grown up as a person of color and through these experiences, I find that culture is the basis of all art. Lastly, connecting with an idea is not so much about how good the story is, but about how effectively that story is told and I specialize in doing so. Since moving to LA in 2008, I’ve spent the last thirteen years working my way up from a production assistant to a Producer for established companies like Angel City Football Club, Playboy, Bellator MMA and Viacom. I’ve held production jobs as an editor (Comedy Central & Spike TV), Producer and Director. Lastly, I’ve spent the last five years learning the ins & outs of digital/social marketing also through Playboy, Bellator MMA and most recently, cannabis startup, ISLAND.
