A seasoned technology executive with over 30 years of increasing management experience combined with a strong and diverse knowledge of traditional IT, emerging technologies, payments, financial services, product development, and business operations, John serves as Managing Director and Chief Information Officer / Chief Technology Officer (CIO/CTO) of Nelnet Transaction Solutions. John has managed, nurtured, and grown several businesses,business units and technology groups over the years, primarily focused on the role of technology, back-office operations and optimization, and customer relations in the financial services industry, spanning banking, credit cards, insurance, and payment processing in institutions ranging from large regional banks to global payment processors like First Data Corp. For the last 10 years, John served as the CIO/CTO for Nelnet Business Solutions, growing the IT group in that division from 15 to over 250 FTE’s, overseeing the complete re-write of two key platforms, managing multiple data center migrations and infrastructure re-architectures, serving a technology advisory role in mergers and acquisitions, and leading new business ventures. His passion for innovation and sincere belief that NTS can play a leading role in re-shaping the payments industry lead John to leave his role in NBS to focus solely on advancing NTS.
