Bailey started his advertising career in London as an Art Director. In 1981 he moved to Sydney and in the late 80’s became a copywriter. He has been both board director as well as creative director and Executive Creative Director of several Multi National Agencies both in Australia and overseas. Bailey firmly believes that good work builds brands, creates demand, generates sales or better still, all three. “No matter how good we believe our work is if it doesn’t produce a ROI for a client it can’t possibly be good. After all, that’s what we’re paid to do”. Bailey has created some of Australia’s most memorable and successful campaigns, such as “Dougie the Delivery Boy” for Pizza Hut, the long running Spray and Wipe commercial (Now in it’s 20th year) and the Sultana Bran “Don’t tell them it’s healthy and they’ll eat it by the boxful” campaign. Recent success has seen him, in a 2 year period take McCann Erickson Indonesia from a relatively barren 10 year to the second most awarded agency in both major local award shows. He has won many awards including several Cannes Awards, loads of Clio’s (including best of show and Clio Hall of Fame) and a couple of AWARD Silvers.
