Self-motivated and versatile research programmer with experience developing applications for a diverse array of computer vision and medical image analysis problems. TECHNICAL SKILLS- Proficiency in a variety of programming languages including C, C++, Java, Python, Matlab, etc- In-depth knowledge of parallel and GPGPU accelerated programming with experience in CUDA - Experience in developing software for library integration (including VTK, ITK, OpenCV, etc.) and stand-alone applications- In-depth knowledge of machine learning, computational probability, and artificial intelligence techniques including Markov Random Fields, large-scale Gaussian mixture modeling, fuzzy logic modeling, and applications of these techniques to image processing problems and computational epistemology. COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS - Strong sense of independent initiative and collaborative teamwork - Strong managerial skills from sitting on the Organizing Committee for both local and province-level conferences including the Imaging Network of Ontario Symposium- Authorship and co-authorship on several journal articles and conference presentations in medical image segmentation, human computer interaction, MR image reconstruction, and minimally invasive interventions - Fluent in English (first language), comfortable in French (niveau C2), progressing in Italian (livello B2) OTHER INTERESTS - I have a very strong interest in philosophy, especially fields such as epistemology and semiotics, which underlie cognitive science. I have recently published an article entitled "The Semiotics of Medical Image Segmentation" in the journal Medical Image Analysis which applies concepts from Peircean semiotics to understand and describe knowledge-driven human-computer interaction in medical imaging.
