About John Blackett

John has over 15 years senior experience in healthcare, consumer and business to business markets, with a focus on high technology. He combines a strong technical and commercial background to create strong strategic, marketing, innovation and business management skills with technology insight. John is Senior Director of Philips' Design for eXcellence (DfX) program in Philips procurement which takes a holistic view across businesses and drives end to end performance throughout the company. He rejoined Philips from TomTom, where he was Vice President of product marketing for the consumer business with responsibility for navigation products and services. John previously worked for Philips Electronics in several senior positions where he helped business units define their strategy, worked on M&A projects, and brought several new product innovations to market in the consumer division. Before Philips, he worked in management consulting for five years with PWC/PRTM on successful engagements with global technology clients in marketing, product development and operational improvement projects. John started his career as an engineer for Fujitsu Microelectronics before gaining a strong commercial grounding at Future Electronics, a privately held, fast paced semiconductor products distributor, working in North America before returning to help grow its European business first in the UK and then in France. John has an engineering degree from the University of Sheffield in the UK and an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management/Haas School at the University of Berkeley, California, having been awarded a scholarship from the Royal Academy of Engineering.
