About John Boerefyn

I am a Third Year Mechanical Engineering Student at Queens University. I have had experience working in the trades as an install assistant and CNC cutting bed operator for a custom cabinetry company. I am comfortable working on job sites with other tradesmen and am accustomed to meeting high quality standards. Throughout my academic career in start-ups and clubs around campus, I have had the opportunity to lead. Through leadership experiences and group projects, I have found honesty and mutual respect to be a critical component of effective team work. The current start-up project I am leading, an electric powered wheelchair bike, is an example of my initiative to improve the lives of those around me and give back to the community. Working in trades has required that my performance met a high standard of excellence and ensured the customer’s satisfaction with their product. Many of the tasks required careful attention to detail to ensure the product was free of flaws. The experiences above have taught me important and valuable skills that I believe will aid me in my professional career.
