About John Boland

An experienced finance professional experience across geographical (Australia and Ireland), size (large and medium scale), structural (listed and unlisted), industry (retail and construction) and environmental (in-house commercial and public practice) levels. I joined BDO in 2003, progressing to Associate Director with key specialisation in Motor Industry Services advisory. This focused on assisting Automotive Retail operations develop high-performance operating models through analytical insight, measurement of key business drivers and strategic KPIs, all combined with strong balance sheet and cash flow management disciplines, to ultimately drive sustainably superior profits. In 2008, I attained my Company Secretary qualification. In 2011, I joined AHG (ASX: AHG) as Group Financial Controller, a growth focused ASX200 organisation providing direct working exposure to AHG’s Board and Executive team. Working with AHG provided significant experience and exposures within a large, complex, operationally and geographically diversified listed organisation with a track record of significant growth (20+ acquisitions; further Greenfields and divestments; three equity raises), but which also faced significant challenges across regulatory and consumer changes. This listed company environment has provided multi-faceted experience across Executive (Board, Audit and Risk Committee, Leadership Group), Finance (Financial Reporting, Digital Controllership), Treasury (Refinancing, Covenants), HR (Diversity, OHS, Payroll Risk, Executive Remuneration), IT (Cybersecurity, ERP implementation, Business Intelligence), Business Automation (Analytics, Master Data, Procure-to-Pay and Expense Automation), Corporate Finance (Equity Raises, M&A, Investors) and Risk Management (Internal Audit, Corporate Governance/Company Secretarial, Regulators). The acquisition by AP Eagers of AHG in August 2019 provided additional professional experience within a takeover environment – IER takeover offer response, acquiror engagement, post completion activities (refinancing, integration management, identification and realisation of synergistic benefits, reporting integration, cultural integration). In 2020 I joined Stealth Global Holdings (ASX: SGI) as Group Chief Financial Officer.
