John Boyer is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) with fifteen years of assurance experience, currently managing a team of internal auditors covering FedEx in Europe. In the Internal Audit department with FedEx, John managed and led risk-based audits and consulting engagements for numerous departments and subsidiaries, focusing on internal controls, system interfaces, and key processes. When previously working as an Internal Auditor with U. S. Steel, John complemented his accounting knowledge with technical aptitude and a flair for presentations in order to help numerous departments recognize the best possible opportunities for improvement. At Stonemetz & Wilkins, CPA's, John had the opportunity to participate in many facets of external assurance services due to the variety of clients, but he was drawn to internal audit due to the shift of the internal audit profession from a compliance and enforcing role to a consulting and value-adding approach. In a less professional setting, John enjoys board games, world travel, and personal finance education.
