In the SCUBA industry there wasn’t a suitable inventory control system. So I learned to write code so that I could design a software system for our store. I would set monthly sales goals with our employees. At the end of each month I would evaluate each employees performance, make adjustments and additional training if necessary. As a result my shop was awarded top preforming shop for the past 8 years. I have hired many employees over the years and trained them in sales and customer service. We had a very low employee turn over. As a shop owner I analyzed our sales patterns to determine which product to buy or discontinue. Over the years I have trained and mentored many students from open water divers to instructor level. I have developed and maintained a yearly budget for our shop and our e-commerce website. On occasion a costumer would not be satisfied with the product they purchased. As a result I would arrange returns for credit or replacement. I have worked closely with venders to have competitive pricing and quality equipment in our store. Developed purchasing process to maximize profits, minimize shipping cost and over stocking.
