Background

About John Brandt

I’m a pastor, teacher, and disciple-maker who believes the local church is still God’s plan A for reaching the world. For over a decade, I’ve served as Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church in Hempstead, Texas, where I preach the Word, equip leaders, and lead a growing culture of intentional discipleship. My calling is rooted in real life and real service. Before stepping into full-time ministry, I served 10 years in the U.S. Army, most of that time with the Honor Guard in Washington, D.C. That experience shaped how I lead: with discipline, clarity, and a deep respect for people. I hold a Doctor of Ministry from Liberty University, along with master's degrees in Theological Studies and Religious Education. I’ve developed digital resources including a podcast, blog, YouTube channel, and website that are designed to support disciple-makers both in and beyond the church. I also serve as a chaplain and assistant coach at Rosehill Christian School, where I invest in the next generation through sports, mentorship, and biblical teaching. At the heart of everything I do is a simple mission; to make disciples who make disciples.
