About John Brantingham

I have extensive experience as a writer and creative writing professor. I taught at Mt. San Antonio College, where I directed the creative writing program for more than twenty years, but I am moving toward retirement and would like to continue teaching but with non-credit adult students. I have also taught at MFA programs and universities such as California State University, Long Beach, The Northwest Institute of Literary Arts, and California Polytechnic University, Pomona. I was the Poet Laureate at Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks for two years, and I coordinated a writing program for them for more than ten years. I have published 19 books of fiction, poetry, and nonfiction including flash fiction collections. I have been published in hundreds of magazines and my work was included in The Best Small Fictions, an anthology of the year’s best flash fiction in 2016 and 2022. I teach yearly at the Bath Flash Fiction Festival in the United Kingdom, and this year I am the final judge for their novella-in-flash contest.
