About John Bruno

John is a graduate of both Mercer and Auburn Universities. At Mercer, John received a Bachelor of Arts in law and public policy, and dedicated his time to the surrounding community by being a math tutor at local high schools and a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. Before arriving at Auburn, John worked in the government and non-profit sectors, which included a position in the United States House of Representatives. During his time at Auburn, he pursued a Master's Degree in Information Systems Management from the Harbert College of Business and graduated with a GPA of 3.77. He has a passion for many aspects of information security and systems management: Information Assurance, IT Auditing and Forensic Incident Response, to name a few. While at Auburn University, John was a Graduate Assistant for the Department of Systems and Technology. In that role, he taught courses in business analytics and information security. In addition, John was devoted to the Student Government Association as a senator of Graduate Student Council. As a senator, he had the privilege of being a part of some of the most important discussions that affect graduate students, including, tuition changes and other budget concerns. He also had the opportunity to be a member of an administrative review committee, which annually selects faculty and staff members for review. Based on the review, the committee makes recommendations for the member’s future at Auburn University. In short, his time at Auburn allowed him to become an effective leader and decision maker. John has a concentration in security, holds a certificate in business analytics, and is Security + certified. He also passed the rigorous CISSP exam in 2020, and currently holds both CISA and CISSP designations as well as a Service Now Certified System Administrator certification.
