Successfully managed and developed a growing Addiction Medicine Service that resulted in an increased efficiency in providing Addiction Treatment and Counseling for seven individual hospitals within the greater Grand Rapids area. Provided executive leadership and managing skills to help run and operate two separate Sub-Acute Detox Centers in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This resulted in the successful detoxification of over patients under the supervision of myself and the medical team. Well rounded and experienced in the continuum of care for patients who suffer with the disease of addiction. This would include active patient-provider interaction in three levels of care made up of acute, sub-acute and outpatient settings. This would prove to be instrumental when trying to fill the gaps commonly seen in the discharge process of patient care. Helped design two Co-Occurring Disorder Programs to more effectively treat the common complexities seen in the treatment of concomitant mental health and substance abuse disorders.Appointed to Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine through Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.Appointed to Adjunct Faculty Member for the Pine Rest/MSU Psychiatry Residency Program.Appointed to Core Faculty Member of the new Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship Program at Pine Rest.Appointed to Core Faculty Member for the Physician Assistant Psychiatry Fellowship Program at Pine Rest.
