About John Burgoon

As an Information Architect and Machine Learning Engineer, I specialize in analyzing and visualizing complex systems to provide senior leadership with essential decision support. With a keen eye for identifying critical issues, I've successfully led small Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement teams, driving rapid and impactful change. My expertise extends to strategic analysis, where I excel in guiding organizations towards optimal outcomes. Proficient across various major technologies, I'm continuously seeking opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills. Presently, my focus lies on machine learning and embedded AI, particularly within radiation-hardened process control hardware for robotic applications in challenging environments. While these may seem completely unrelated, both areas involve complex information environments, advanced machine learning technology, and a strong understanding of applied information analysis and visualization to guide design thinking. In pursuit of further academic enrichment, I've made the decision to transition from traditional employment to join the prestigious Indiana University Luddy School of Intelligent Systems Engineering Ph.D. program, commencing in Fall 2024.
