Years of experience in various roles from back end processing and data preparation to web applications and technical management.As an architect, I obsess about three things cost, performance, and sustainability. There are times it makes sense to build, there are times it makes sense to buy. There are complicated engineered solutions that are necessary for hard problems, and sometimes you just need sqlite. I am able to walk the line around all the options and help pick the one that suits the business needs.I am a technical manager focused not only on innovating but I worry about quality. I have a focus past the build cycle into operations, and I’m always thinking strategically. I know how to work with the technical and business sides of the organization as well as stakeholders and clients. I've spent a lot of time supporting enterprise software in production. I understand how to maintain code, perform root cause analysis, and teach others to do the same. I am quick to learn new technologies at a deep level and am able to bridge vernacular or patterns between technology cultures and the business. I'm experienced at taking legacy code and moving it forward as both a manager and an engineer. I understand the challenges of maintaining an existing code base while attempting to innovate at the same time. I'm able to take new technologies and interweave them with existing investments when it makes sense. I also know when it’s the right time to just start over or completely rethink how things are being done.
