About John Cabri

I am currently training as a resident in Urology at UCLA Health and the David Geffen School of Medicine. I am interested in the intersection of science and humanity in medicine, and specifically in urology, to improve well-being and quality of life. I am presently researching how overactive bladder and urinary incontinence relate to social and financial stress for patients, as well as understanding the urinary microbiome and its relationship to bothersome bladder and pelvic symptoms. My primary interests in urology center on voiding (urinary) dysfunction including urinary retention, urinary incontinence (leakage), incomplete emptying, symptoms of bothersome urination (frequency, urgency, waking up at night to urinate [nocturia]), and bladder and pelvic pain. I am also interested in taking care of patients with urinary stones, urologic cancers, genital lesions and pain, erectile dysfunction, and low testosterone [hypogonadism]. In addition to my medical experience, I possess leadership and management experience that has given me numerous opportunities to improve the efficiency, productivity, and success of the organizations of which I have been part. I enjoy connecting with people, inspiring hope, joy, and laughter, and collaborating with others to pursue new ideas.
