About John Chase

I am an IT Project Manager and an independent travel agent and owner of Butler Chase Travel. I lead and manage multiple concurrent technology projects in the logistics industry. These projects cover both internal process improvements and customer facing enhancements or implementations. I lead the development team and coordinate communication between the tech team, the operations, the customer, and management. With my technology background I’m able to talk the tech with the analysts, and with my industry experience I am able to talk to the customers and operations. I have experience from the logistics engineering and sales, the technology solution design, solution development, and solution implementations perspectives. I’ve worked on projects for US, Canada, Mexico, and Netherlands (EU) stakeholders. Business areas worked on include order processing, load planning, backhaul planning, freight payment process, and billing process. Project Management Activities • Document project SOW & deliverable, estimate effort and duration, prepare presentation for management to approve project. • Managing the Project and Key Deliverables. Defend against Scope Creep • Function as the primary liaison between Functional Teams. • Communicating the project status and timelines, internally & externally. • Escalating to Management appropriately. • Tracking & reporting Project Team hours and issues on a weekly basis. Specialties: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (Cert#: 1380686) from the Project Management Institute (PMI)- Dec 2010. Six Sigma Process creation using DMADV method.
