About John Chopin

I am an experienced, well motivated Quality Assurance Manager/Engineer who has been offering his services as a contractor for the past 15 or so years. Prior to that I held a number Quality Assurance and Quality Control positions in various companies and industries building up my knowledge base on Quality in industry. I have taken 3 companies through ISO 9001 accreditation and 1 company through MHRA GMP. I obviously have a strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 as well as AS 9102 and other statutory regulations including working within an ITAR regime. I also established a Quality Management System for an IT department within an NHS Foundation Trust that was subsequently commended by the Audit Commission and published as a Case Study. I have good experience of compiling/validating AS9102 FAIR's. I can easily slot in as a member of a team and I am equally at ease working independently. I attended a 3 day residential Internal Auditing course conducted by LRQA in the 1990's (with Manny Gillespie). Building on that I have accrued experience in External Auditing - especially as I have taken 3 companies through ISO 9001 accreditation. My experience covers a broad spectrum of industries including Aerospace, Defence, Formula 1, Pharmaceutical, Marine Electrical, Plastic Injection Moulding and the NHS. My skill set includes Quality Assurance Systems, Computer System Validation, Coordinate Measuring Machines, Supply Chain Quality activities, Quality Control, Understanding engineering drawings including GD & T, metal finishing processes, NDT, Quality Management System Process/Procedure authoring and reviews, MS Office, Data Validation, KPI's/Metrics generation etc.
