About John Clark

As a Computer Scientist at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), I specialize in building applications that enable geospatial and environmental data analysis. My work spans both frontend and backend development, creating dynamic, interactive visualizations of oceanographic and meteorological data using modern web technologies. Working in an agile environment, I develop full-stack applications using React, Typescript, Cesium.js, Node.js, Python, Flask, and Java. I focus on designing user-centered tools for managing and visualizing Web Map Services (WMS) and other Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards - delivering near real-time geospatial insights that support operational decision-making. I recently earned my Master's in Computer Science along with a Graduate Certificate in AI and Machine Learning, and I'm actively expanding my skills in neural networks and deep learning. I'm now seeking new opportunities where I can collaborate with innovative teams working at the intersection of software development, data visualization, and environmental intelligence.
