I am a shareholder in Maynard Cooper & Gale’s Insurance and Financial Services section, where my practice concentrates on defending financial institutions, mortgage companies, and mortgage servicers in individual and class claims arising from federal and state consumer protection statutes, including the Truth in Lending Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, and Unfair Trade Practices statutes. I have also arbitrated financial services cases before the American Arbitration Association served as a arbitrator, and argued cases in the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. I also have extensive experience in other types of litigation, including the representation of employers and insurers in employee benefit and insurance matters, including ERISA claims involving benefit claim disputes, 401(k) stock drop actions, fiduciary breach claims, discrimination under ERISA § 510, and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (“ESOP”) disputes. I have recently handled ERISA matters in state and federal courts throughout the country. I was selected as a “Rising Star” in Employee Benefits/ERISA in the 2010 edition of Alabama Super Lawyers.
