Developing the Production Engineering capability within companies and to ensure there is a full appreciation of the scope and importance of Production Engineering. Production Engineers who need to be all round experts in the area of surface Operations and sub-surface Petroleum Engineering. Appreciating these engineers have the where with all to integrate other disciplines Operations, Maintenance, Well Engineering, the Development teams (Reservoir Engineers, Production Technologists, Projects) and Commercial teams to be one team for the overall benefit of an Asset. Creating an environment which ensures robust business processes and appropriate technologies are employed and fully integrated. This will bring together key elements of Production Management which will deliver visible Production Optimisation. They include Production Loss Management, Production Forecasting, Integrated Activity Planning and most importantly a production performance review process which allows senior management to understand "real" performance which in turn will allow informed choices to be made.
