Career highlights - Leading change in all Methodist Mission delivery sections which have resulted in significant performance improvements, customer service and outcomes- Reconstructing the Methodist Mission recruitment process which has seen a dramatic improvement in the quality and suitability of hires and a more informative and positive experience for applicants- Co-developing a detailed curriculum and checklist of developmental milestones for The Mission’s Early Learning Centre. This is unique in New Zealand and provides the opportunity for children’s learning potential to be maximised- Coordinating and being involved in NGO / community based research projects- Establishing Tennis Southern Region, providing leadership, unity and direction to the game of tennis in the lower South Island- Developing and implementing a Flexible Workplace Practices Policy for Sport Otago which led to enhanced productivity and staff morale- Refining and enhancing the Team Leader concept at Sport Otago. Integral to this was the delegation of decision making to the lowest possible level. This took the Team Leader’s from having a title only role to being an active part in the management of staff, delivery and direction of Sport Otago’s programmes- Leading the Crown Relocations Dunedin branch to the number one worldwide quality ranking. The internal quality programme was based upon a mix of customer feedback, insurance claim statistics, operational performance and financial accuracy. Over 100 Crown Relocations branches are measured internationally- Leading a multiple branch network with 10 direct reports and a total staff of 73 following the merger of Mastertrade and Corys Electrical who were previously competitors. This involved team building and the creation of new relationships, learning new procedures and computer systems. During this period, sales grew by 37.6% and EBIT by a comparable level.
