About John Devlin

I am an experienced theatre artist with a total of 442 production credits: 274 with 27 different professional companies and 168 with 20 different academic programs. Credits include-Scenic Design: 62 professional credits; 71 academic credits -Lighting Design: 53 professional credits; 90 academic credits -Production manager: 64 professional credits (17 seasons of summer stock)-Technical direction: 43 professional credits; 86 academic credits In 22 years at Saint Michael's College and for seven years prior to that at Marquette University I have been the primary individual responsible for maintenance of the theatre department facilities. I have been involved with the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival as a regional and national office. Volunteer leadership positions held include-National Board: Design, Technology and Management member at large 2017-2020 (elected position)-Region One Co-Chair 2014-2017 -Region One Financial Director 2011-2017 (~$110K annual budget -Region One Co-Vice Chair 2010-2014 -Region One Co-Chair of Design, Technology and Management 2009 -Region One Co-Vice Chair of Design, Technology and Management 2004-2008 In service to Saint Michael's College I have been elected to the Faculty Council, the promotion and tenure committee for three successive terms (2018, 2020, 2022). I have chaired the committee for four years. I was also the secretary to the faculty assembly for four years.(2017-2021). I have served on search committees for the following departments: History, Biology, Art and Design, Dean of Faculty, Music. As a Davis Fellow I chaired the committee that established an assessment rubric for the artistic experience component of the college core.
