About John Dick

John is a widely experienced field application engineer and technical support lead with strong customer-facing skills. He has variously been a software developer, customer tech support, test/QA engineer, technical lead and overall tenacious troubleshooter; from financial software systems to wireless telecommunications devices. Most recently, he has enjoyed applying his expertise to the development of a first generation Android product. John has a proven ability to identify, diagnose and clearly communicate technical problems while working closely with internal disciplines and external parties to achieve problem resolution. He likes nothing better than flying into a new part of the globe at zero notice, getting to the bottom of some intractable issue, and leaving again with the issue resolved and more friends acquired. Originally from Scotland, he has been fortunate to have experienced life in Cambridge, England and Boston, Massachusetts with short trips to many other places around the globe. He now lives in Silicon Valley, California, and when not enjoying a picnic at the beach with his family, spends his weekends split between his two greatest passions: road biking in the California hills, or teaching sailing on San Francisco Bay.
