A successful SaaS CTO, COO & CEO, John has built secure, online information platforms from scratch in the defense, financial services, and payments industries. His expertise includes building and leading executive teams, processes, and products for shareholder value; scaling products and hybrid-cloud operations; defining and executing go to market strategies; designing and managing tech-enabled services; and developing and executing successful exit strategies to strategic or private equity buyers. John is currently advising Precisely Software, Inc after their acquisition of CEDAR CX Technologies, which he led since 2016 as CEO. A SaaS digital communications company in Atlanta, GA, CEDAR specialized in regulated financial services communications to consumers. He and his team tripled valuation during his tenure as CEO (36% CAGR), growing annual recurring revenue in their reseller channel at 25% CAGR (10% CAGR overall) while expanding their document products to a full digital spectrum offering and expanding direct and channel sales. Prior to being named CEO, John served as the company’s CTO, then COO, providing enterprise-class communications SaaS for clients like Voya, CarMax, American Express, Ally Bank, Goldman Sachs, Fiserv, and Harley Davidson. Markets served include Banking, Lending, Wealth, Mortgage and Insurance. He led the team that pioneered development of a scalable communication data model and workflow engine to manage the huge data integration challenge of modern customer experience. Under his leadership, CEDAR built all sales, implementation, certifications and support required for client success, growing revenue from $1M to $30M. Prior to joining CEDAR, John worked in the aerospace industry prior to joining the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) where he developed complex missile engagement simulation platforms; planned and conducted NATO field tests to validate simulation results; and used the results to develop and train aircrews on tactics to increase survivability. His team received multiple commendations from the Air Force for their efforts. He also managed the team that designed, developed and managed secure supercomputing, collaboration and knowledgebase platforms for the Department of Defense. He has a Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and has completed advanced technical, project and program management training programs at GTRI.
