About John Doherty

I’ve spent years working in home improvement and exterior design, and one thing has stayed consistent: people want a process they can understand.Outdoor projects are significant investments. My role is to bring structure to the ideas, ask the right questions early, and turn concepts into plans that actually work in the real world. At Deckscapes of Virginia, I focus on thoughtful design, clear communication, and realistic expectations. I take the time to understand the space, how it will be used, and what matters most to the people living there. The goal isn’t just a good-looking project. It’s one that fits the home and holds up over time.I enjoy problem-solving, collaborating with skilled trades, and talking through design decisions with people who care about the details. If you’re in the industry or enjoy discussing how good projects come together, I’m always open to connecting.
