Background

About John Donovan

Throughout the course of my career I have worked on a wide range of different projects of varying sizes. Starting in a junior role position, improving on my engineering knowledge and working my way up under direct supervision from senior associates to an experienced highways engineer. During this time I have developed upon my experience through learning various skills and techniques. By studying through day release I was able to learn and apply the skills taught in the classroom and put them into practical use on live projects as well as maintaining a good environmental awareness and health and safety practices. From the beginning of my career I have always taken my own personal development seriously by enrolling on any training available to me, attending seminars, webinars and workshops where possible. I am passionate about my role and always keen to assist less experienced engineers in their roles and setting a professional positive example. I have developed and become more confident as an Engineer working on projects from inception to completion. I demonstrate my ability to manage the process of investigation, design, construction and final account by tracking and producing document control registers. I take responsibility for the work I produce for example the production of contract documents and carriageway maintenance drawings.
