About John Doxaras

Ever wonder how modern advertising industry tracks down your behavior and deducting aspects of your personality or knowing your favorite sports team? Or how CERN's LHC experiment, managed to real-time process petabytes of data, in mankind's quest for Higgs boson?It's all an interesting story of distributed systems, real time analytics and look-alike clustering, implemented on the cloud. John was there to witness all these revolutions in computer science during his professional and academic life. In doing so, he founded and grew three companies and had one exit. Managed teams, build products, while starting in Europe, scaled the business to Middle East, South and North America.Studied theoretical physics at UOA, NTUA and University of Cambridge. Actively involved with high performance computing since it's actualisation in 2004, as a full time research associate at CERN's LHC experiment, mining petabytes of real-time events. Continued with GEANT - Europe's first distributed scientific GRID - focusing on Quantum Monte Carlo meta-materials simulations, generalised quantum search and cryptography algorithms. Strong statistics, probability and information theory background with interests in applied machine learning and data-mining problems. Extensive background developing both computational science codes as well as systems programming experience with large scale distributed systems.
