About John Drew

I am a UX obsessive, product and game designer, digital strategist, and college professor with deep expertise spanning UX research, UX design and product management and implementation. Beyond teaching, I am an active researcher currently focused on the intersection of physical game design and virtual community formation among youth across geographic, cultural, gender and other differences. In the past, I have served as a product manager, UX researcher and UX designer for a variety of startups (a green-tech initiative, a mobile-app company and an events platform). Prior to my work in tech, I made films, all of which focused on human rights themes. I have a deep commitment to social, climate, and racial justice, and thrive in multi-disciplinary/class/cultural environments. I earned an BA in Economics from Duke University, an MA in Media Studies from The New School, and an MFA in Design & Technology from Parsons. I am a native English speaker with full Spanish fluency, and I have lived in seven countries on four continents.
