About John Driver

I’ve enjoyed a varied career and have experienced many facets of public and private sector environments, at a variety of levels. I value my time spent in corporate enterprise, as my interests in technology were formed there. My experiences in education taught me the importance of being able to balance the real needs of people with appropriate technologies. I am passionate about technology and innovation but at the same time I understand that to some, technology is seen as a barrier. I take real joy in showing people how appropriate technologies really can benefit us all. I believe that IT should work for people, not the other way around. Outside of work I am an avid fly fisherman and have travelled the globe to some remote places just to catch fish. I am a keen amateur woodworker. I enjoy life in New Zealand and consider myself lucky to live here. I speak in plain, uncomplicated language and I am a practical person that enjoys any hands-on challenge. I am interested in music and the arts.
