About John Edgren
I grew up on a family farm in southeast Iowa and started learning to fly in a 1946 Taylorcraft when I was 12. I got my private pilot certificate and instrument rating in high school, and my commercial pilot (ASEL & AMEL) and flight instructor (CFI) certificates while in college. I am a graduate of Iowa State University's Aerospace Engineering program, with the intent of pursuing a career as an airline pilot. I have over 1480 hours of flight time, roughly 90% of that being in tailwheel aircraft including a Cessna 180, Globe Super-Swift, and 1929 New Standard Biplane. I also have over 350 hours as a flight instructor, predominately providing tailwheel endorsements in a J-3 Cub and Citabria, and spin training in the Citabria
