About John Engel

John A. Engel retired at the end of 2017 after last serving as the Business Transformation Process Leader for the Make to Deploy (MTD) and MillerCoors Manufacturing Solution (MCMS). In this role, John lead a team of SME’s that spanned MillerCoors Integrated Supply Chain to implement a new SAP instance and Manufacturing Execution System. MCMS (MillerCoors Manufacturing Solution) was designed to capture data and provide analytics needed to make critical business and operational decisions in batch context. It will also provided the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) interface to MillerCoors’ new SAP instance. During John’s 37 plus years in the brewing industry, he held numerous positions within the Miller Brewing Company and now MillerCoors at various locations, which included the Albany, Georgia Brewery; Milwaukee, Wisconsin Brewery; Trenton, Ohio Brewery and Corporate Offices. He has significant experience in brewery, laboratory and systems start-ups in addition to establishing and administering corporate wide brewing and packaging quality programs. Prior responsibilities include analytical services, auditing, brewery problem solving/troubleshooting, cleaning and sanitation, GMP, packaging quality, process quality, sensory and supplier quality program administration for the corporate headquarters, eight domestic breweries and numerous international licensees. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin and a Diploma in Brewing Technology from the Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois. He has served as the chairman of the American Society of Brewing Chemists’ New and Alternate Methods of Analysis Committee from June through June 2003, Program Committee Chair from 2004 through 2007, Vice President from 2007-2008, President Elect from 2008-2009, President from 2009-2010 and Past President from 2010-2011. John is also a member of the Master Brewers Association of the Americas.
