John has 40+ years of experience in mental health work, homeless services, and property management, making sure individuals can live stably in the community. He has provided residential support, outreach, and aftercare services to adolescents, children, and adults. John has provided community support to those leaving jails, prisons, psychiatric hospitals, nursing homes, and forensic facilities. John has 7 years of experience with property management and construction supervision. John has served on multiple statewide Boards and committees and is currently Vice-President for NAMI Illinois and the Treasurer at NAMI Lake County Illinois. Policy and Training Specialties: Olmstead, Consent decrees; Creating Supportive Housing for persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities; Operating and creating Supportive Housing to stabilize persons with mental health difficulties, extensive criminal histories, histories of homelessness; Property Management, and Supportive Services Coordination including strategic planning to maximize Medicaid income; Working with persons in specific populations including the following groups - Re-Entry, Mental Health, Prisons, Jails; Developing and running a high fidelity Assertive Community Treatment Team; Strategies for outreach. and persistence with difficult populations; Understanding the benefits of working closely and developing relationships with federally qualified health care centers (FQHC) to increase billable services.(Bending the cost curve), Housing First Training and focusing on cost studies on frequent user programs.
