About John Farber

I love solving problems to improve organizational performance. I have been told that I can see solutions and generate ideas that no one else had considered. I am passionate about working with independent schools, and I also enjoy helping educational leaders succeed during crisis situations. I believe in building build strong relationships. Currently I serve as the strategic managing director of Resource Group 175, assisting independent schools with executive search. I also provide leadership coaching, advise on strategy and governance, and solve organizational development challenges. I encourage school leaders to think big and uncork their imagination! When leading strategic thinking retreats, I push those in attendance to think differently. I enjoy getting a school’s board of directors to think differently, and am a proponent of enhancing engagement with students. In past roles, I served as the Head of School for multiple award-winning independent schools. I have transformed underperforming schools and enabled good schools to attain best-in-class status. What sets me apart is that I am a change agent, and I motivate others and achieve organizational alignment and transformation by exuding optimism and confidence. When I am not guiding school leaders, I enjoy time with family, traveling, spending time outdoors, and watching college-level sports.
