About John Finney

Born and raised in New Orleans, I graduated from Jesuit High School and Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. After graduating from LSU in 2015, I became a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones, and I earned the CFP® designation in 2017. Growing up with a father who was a Family Physician, I watched him take care of his patients' physical health so they could maintain their dignity and independence into old age. As a Financial Advisor, I follow in his footsteps by taking care of my clients' financial health, allowing them to maintain their dignity and independence throughout retirement. I am a firm believer that stress and worry are two of the most common causes of sickness later in life, and my goal is to make sure my clients never experience these negative emotions as a result of their finances. As a Financial Advisor for families in Lakeview, I develop an understanding of what is most important to my clients. I then use an established process to tailor a plan specific to their financial goals. We then partner together over time to ensure they stay on track. I also partner together with my clients' CPAs and attorneys to develop tax-savings and estate planning strategies. My Branch Office Administrator, Donna Dowden, and I are dedicated to providing our clients with the highest level of service possible. In her free time, you can find Donna spending time with her husband, Matt, as well as family and friends, cheering on the LSU Tigers and spoiling her many nieces and nephews.
