About John Fischer
I am originally from Buffalo, NY which is where I earned my BA degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Computer Science at Canisius College in May of 2015. I continued my studies at the University of Cincinnati, where I earned my MA in Applied Mathematics in May of 2017. My original focus was in Pure Mathematics, but I ultimately earned both of my degrees with adequate exposure to both theoretical and applied concepts. During my undergraduate years, I was introduced to OOP via courses in Java. Throughout my graduate years, I took courses related to programming in computational languages such as Mathematica and MATLAB. I have taught undergraduate students to some capacity at various levels of mathematics and have tutored many other individuals in the analytical approach to problem solving. Currently, I am employed at Progressive Insurance as a Pricing Analyst. My main interest is to look for work that would allow me to integrate applied mathematical methods and programming to whatever extent possible.
