About John Franklin

I've spent a lot of time working making slot games for mobile devices as well as custom hardware. A lot of my experience revolves around C# and Unity, but I find myself spending more time developing processes for the companies I work for rather than actually developing games. At my first job, the workflow was mostly waterfall, so I spent a lot of time and energy attempting to explain agile methodologies to non software engineers. This was a daunting task. I eventually left that company and ended up working for a new company making the same types of games. I found myself in the same situation where I spent more of my time explaining how to be more efficient in developing games. From refactoring old code to introducing solutions to problems they had been having for a while. After only a year, I found myself teaching experienced developers who had been with the company for years, new ways of approaching existing problems. Originally, I found it fun but I crave a challenge on the code side. Not the challenge of explaining Clean Code and Agile to non-programmers.
