About John Fulp

Began working "cyber" at age 18 as a USMC radio technician. BS in Physical Science (USNA '87). Conducted airborne electronic warfare (including Gulf War I) for six years. MS in Computer Science (NPS '96). CS/Cyber lecturer for students at the Naval Academy, Naval Postgraduate School, NATO School, and NSA. Co-developed the Cyber Certificate Program taught at the NATO School (2012 to present). Certifications: CISSP, ISSEP, ISSAP (+ 4 more expired). TS/SCI (with polygraph). Only person in NPS history to receive school's top educator award (Schieffelin) twice. Taught approximately students covering fourteen cyber-related topics including: high-level and assembly programming, computer architecture, robotics & computer vision, algorithms, networking, network security, cryptography, identity management, wireless communication, electronic warfare, incident response & recovery, network security operations (SIEM), and cyber-physical systems. Advised 60+ masters theses covering diverse range of cyber topics. I enjoy untangling complex topics; such as the highly abstract and "formless" world of code and protocols, and then communicating them with clarity to others. Given the degree/rate at which humans are automating-and complicating-virtually every aspect of industry and society, I expect to stay busy for a long while-)
